J and K Christmas 2013 by A.M. Torres is a compilation of Christmas related poems and short stories which capture the magic, essence, and joy of Christmas. There are some beautiful pictures of the season that is magical and enchanting to readers, especially for those who live in countries where Christmas is not such a huge celebration. The holiday season, shopping, snow, Christmas presents, Christmas trees, holly, mistletoe, Father Christmas etc. are all there in this beautiful and thematic collection.
Christmas is a season of joy and giving. 'Share the Love on Christmas' is one such poem which speaks about sharing. In 'Christmas Through the Years,' the poet reminisces about his Christmases with his parents. He also speaks about the magic of Christmas Eve in the 'Love of Christmas Eve.' My personal favorite in this collection is 'Christmas in Sunset.' The poem captures the ambiance of the season beautifully. The short stories are set around the holiday season. The ethereal feel of snow during the Christmas season is painted well by the poet. All pictures depict the essence of the season and the festival.
The style of writing is elegant and simple. The book ends with 'Reflections of Christmas' which is perfect for the finale. It gives a good overview about Christmas to readers and, though times are changing, the true meaning of all the festivals still remains intact.
